Emergency Medical Assistance — If you become sick or injured, you’ll get the best medical care and assistance, including:

  • Around-the-clock medical monitoring, evaluation, and review of your treatment from start to finish
  • Worldwide medical and dental referrals
  • Dispatch of a medical specialist if your care is complicated or if local care is not available
  • Replaced prescriptions if they are lost or stolen
  • Advanced medical payments
  • Insurance information transferred to medical providers
  • Coordination of the transfer of medication or vaccines in the event they are not available locally
  • Medical records transferred to your treating physician
  • Assistance for hotel stays and room requirements before or after hospitalization
  • Corrective lenses and medical devices replaced

 

Medical Evacuation and Repatriation — If you suffer an injury or unexpected illness, Travel Assistance will:

  • Pay and arrange for emergency medical evacuation if you cannot get the care needed where you are
  • Pay and arrange for a loved one to visit your bedside if you are ill or injured and are hospitalized for more than seven consecutive days, this includes one economy round-trip airfare
  • Pay for one-way airfare for children or grandchildren (if under the age of 18) traveling with you to get back home if your medical condition leaves your children/grandchildren unattended, including a qualified escort if needed
  • Provide transportation to your point of origin upon stabilization of you medical condition
  • Coordinate and pay for transportation to your home country should you need continuing medical care
  • Pay and arrange to bring your body home with dignity in the event of a fatal accident

 

Emergency Travel Assistance — If something goes wrong on your trip, Travel Assistance will:

  • Pay for and arrange to get you back home if a medical condition leaves you stranded — Travel Assistance will even drive your vehicle, rental or RV back home
  • Provide access to pre-trip destination intelligence report, containing information on health and security risks, immunizations, vaccinations, local hospitals, crime, emergency phone numbers, culture, weather, transportation information, currency and entry and exit requirements
  • Make new reservations for hotels, airlines, and other travel services in the event of an illness or injury
  • Arrange emergency cash advance
  • Provide emergency message services for family members toll-free 24/7 through the Travel Assistance Emergency Response Center
  • Help track down lost or stolen luggage, passports, or visas
  • Provide interpreters to help you understand care or treatment
  • Connect you to an attorney and assist in securing a bail bond

 

Security and Political Evacuation Services — If you are traveling within a country that is under political unrest and security concerns and are forced to evacuate for non-medical reasons, Travel Assistance will:

  • Help make evacuation arrangements, which can include:
    • Flight arrangements
    • Securing visas
    • Ground transportation
    • Housing
  • Will coordinate your return home to your country when safety allows, following a political or security evacuation.
